for the Thompson 1927 A-1 and M1 Rifles

Note: All T11S magazines are used and reconditioned, none of them are new. Legally companies cannot manufacture new 30 round magazines for sale to the general public.

WARNING: READ AND FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS AND WARNING IN THESE INSTRUCTIONS!

INTRODUCTION:
The T11S Magazines are all reconditioned surplus magazines. They may not fit your gun perfectly when received. Some minor fitting may be needed. They have been prepared at our factory to fit as closely as possible to the 1927 A-1 and M1 rifles. Since there are minor variances in the magazine locking position of each rifle, an exact factory ready fit cannot be achieved and some custom fitting is often required.

FITTING YOUR T11S MAGAZINE:
The magazines have been re-machined so that there is about 1" between the top of the hole and the top of the rib on the magazine. If the magazine catch engages well below the top of this hole then the magazine will be loose and feeding problem will likely occur.

In order to help ensure a tight fit, we have knowingly left some material to be removed during a hand-fitting process. To fit the magazine use a round file about 1/4" to 3/8" in diameter. Insert it into the top of the magazine locking hole and file the top of the hole as noted in the drawing. DO NOT file more than a few strokes of the file before testing each time to see if the magazine will fit. File a little material and then check the fit again. REPEAT this process until the magazine catch fits into the locking hole and holds the magazine snugly in place.
DO NOT OVER FILE: If you file too much then the magazine will have a "loose fit" and may cause feeding problems.

If you don’t feel comfortable to do this yourself, then have your local gunsmith do it for you.

Additionally: Please check the magazine function by depressing the magazine follower at least 5" to 6" and making sure it returns smoothly and fully to its top position without any gaps or sticking or excessive friction. ALWAYS KEEP THE MAGAZINE CLEAN AND AVOID DROPPING IT.

WARNING: DO NOT DO THIS WITH A LOADED MAGAZINE OR WEAPON. ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK AND CLEAR THE WEAPON & MAGAZINES BEFORE DOING ANY WORK ON IT OR THE RELATED PARTS AND ACCESSORIES SUCH AS THE MAGAZINE.

WARNING: FEED LIPS ON THE TOP OF THE MAGAZINE NEED TO REMAIN IN THEIR SMOOTH STRAIGHT CONDITION. IF THE MAGAZINE IS ACCIDENTALLY DROPPED AND HITS THESE LIPS THEY MAY BE DAMAGED AND FEEDING PROBLEMS CAN OCCUR.

THE MAGAZINE LIPS SHOULD NOT HAVE A WAVY OR DENTED SHAPE. THESE PROPER SHAPE GREATLY EFFECTS THE PROPER FEEDING OF ROUNDS IN THE CHAMBER.
